The Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued a fresh advisory for devotees undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, urging pilgrims to strictly follow the prescribed registration process and safety guidelines to ensure a safe, smooth, and well-organised pilgrimage.
According to the advisory, the daily limit on pilgrims remains in force in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court. Devotees have been advised to complete their advance registration before travelling to Jammu and Kashmir and undertake the Yatra only on the date mentioned in their registration permit.
The administration clarified that Tatkal (on-the-spot) registration is available only in limited numbers and is subject to availability. Pilgrims without confirmed registration have been requested not to proceed towards the Yatra route and instead wait for their allotted travel date.
Authorities also stated that registered yatris will not be permitted to begin the pilgrimage before their scheduled date. Unregistered pilgrims already present in Jammu and Kashmir have been urged to cooperate with officials and await further instructions.
Reassuring devotees, the administration said every registered pilgrim will get an opportunity to undertake the Yatra as per the approved schedule and daily capacity. It also appealed to all yatris to maintain discipline, cooperate with officials, and follow all safety protocols to ensure the successful conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
