Jammu, July 16, 2026: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu has arrested a Patwari after trapping him while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant in Kathua district.
The ACB said that a case, FIR No. 05/2026 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, was registered at Police Station ACB Jammu against Khajan Chand, Patwari, Patwar Halqa Mahanpur, Kathua, following a complaint regarding demand of illegal gratification.
According to the ACB, the accused public servant had allegedly demanded ₹20,000 from the complainant for providing documents after getting a mutation attested in favour of the complainant’s sister.
