According to ministry spokesperson Fatima Jawhar Hayat, the strike resulted in the death of a worker of Indian nationality.

Technical and emergency response teams were immediately rushed to the site to contain the situation and manage the aftermath in line with the ministry’s emergency plan.

Hayat said specialised teams are working to secure the damaged facility while coordinating closely with security agencies and other relevant authorities.

The ministry added that overall operations across the country’s electricity and water network remain unaffected.

Earlier, an Indian national was among two people killed in the UAE after debris from intercepted missiles fell on a street.

The developments come amid escalating tensions in the Gulf region following Iran’s retaliation to joint US and Israeli strikes on Tehran. (Agency)
