DODA, MAY 07: An awareness programme on Lok Adalat was organised today at Doda under the directions of the Chairman and Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), with the aim of educating the public about the significance and benefits of Lok Adalat and amicable settlement of disputes.
The programme was conducted by LADC Advocate Tahir Hussain Dar, Advocate Noman Rafiq, and Para Legal Volunteer (PLV) Suriya Begum, who highlighted the vital role of Lok Adalat in ensuring accessible, speedy and cost-effective justice for the common people.
During the awareness session, participants were informed about the alternative dispute resolution mechanism and the advantages of settling disputes through Lok Adalat without lengthy court procedures.
The speakers emphasized that Lok Adalat serves as an effective platform for resolving cases amicably, thereby reducing the burden on courts and promoting harmony in society.
The resource persons also encouraged the public to actively utilise legal aid services and participate in Lok Adalats for early resolution of disputes in a fair and transparent manner.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the public, who appreciated the initiative aimed at spreading legal awareness at the grassroots level.
