M. Suleman Choudhary, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Traffic, Jammu and Kashmir, has directed traffic officers to put in place comprehensive arrangements to ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety during Diwali and the forthcoming winter season.
The directions particularly focus on vulnerable areas of Kashmir and along national highways, where adverse weather conditions, snowfall and reduced visibility may pose challenges for commuters.
The IGP stressed the need for proper traffic management, preparedness and coordination among concerned officers to deal with the anticipated increase in vehicular movement during the festive season and possible weather-related disruptions.
Traffic officials have been directed to ensure necessary arrangements to facilitate commuters and minimise inconvenience, particularly in areas prone to traffic disruptions during winter.
