Jammu February 24, 2026: Senior Congress leader and former R&B Minister, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, undertook an extensive visit to various areas of Jakyas and Kahara blocks in Doda district, where he interacted with local residents and reviewed developmental issues affecting the region.

During the visit, Saroori held meetings with delegations of elders, youth, and women, who highlighted pressing concerns including road connectivity, potable water supply, electricity shortages, healthcare facilities, and unemployment. The former Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister listened attentively and assured the people that their genuine grievances would be taken up with the concerned authorities on priority.
Recalling his tenure as R&B Minister, Saroori emphasized the importance of strengthening infrastructure, particularly road networks in hilly and remote areas like Doda. He noted that improved connectivity plays a pivotal role in boosting economic activity, enhancing access to essential services, and promoting overall development.
Stressing the need for continuous grassroots engagement, Saroori said that direct interaction with the public is vital for strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring transparent governance. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to serving the people with sincerity and dedication.
He further stated that the guiding principles of the Indian National Congress have always been rooted in inclusive development, social justice, and empowerment of all sections of society, particularly the marginalized and underprivileged.
Residents of the area appreciated his outreach and expressed hope that their long-pending developmental issues would soon be addressed.
