The Drug Control Department conducted a comprehensive inspection drive across far-flung areas of Kulgam including Chowgam, Khargund, Ruzloo, Nowbugh, and Waripora Kund to enforce compliance under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
During the drive, Prince Medical Store at Ruzloo was closed on the spot due to violations of the Act. Officials also lifted three drug samples from different establishments for quality testing and regulatory analysis.
Several medical shops were inspected to verify proper record maintenance, licensing conditions, installation of CCTV cameras, and use of computerized billing systems as per norms.
The department stated that such enforcement drives will continue regularly to prevent illegal sale of drugs and ensure the availability of safe and quality medicines to the public.
