Late evening yesterday, Police Station Doda received information regarding an altercation followed by a scuffle inside a local mosque at Upper Bhelli in the Arnora area of Doda. The incident reportedly occurred between two groups of the same community over the appointment of an Imam.
Upon receiving the information, a police team was immediately dispatched to the village. After assessing the situation, the team seized the CCTV footage related to the incident.
An FIR has been registered at Police Station Doda, and further investigation is underway. Police have stated that all individuals found responsible will be booked and brought to justice as per law.
Authorities have urged the public not to pay heed to rumours being circulated in connection with the case. For any clarification, citizens are advised to contact PCR Doda or SHO Doda.
