Doda, February 07, 2026:
Doda Police have taken swift preventive action under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) in connection with an alleged assault on a tourist in the Bhaderwah area.
On 06.02.2026, a written complaint was received at Police Station Bhaderwah from Suresh Kumar, S/o Dileep Chand, R/o Nagni Bhalra, Tehsil Bhaderwah, alleging the assault of a tourist.
Taking prompt cognizance of the complaint and to prevent any further escalation or breach of peace, Doda Police initiated preventive action under Sections 126/170 of the BNSS on 07.02.2026.
In this regard, the following four persons were detained:
1. Javed Iqbal, S/o Ali Mohd, R/o Kholra Basti, Bhaderwah
2. Owais Ahmed, S/o Showket Ali, R/o Kholra Basti, Bhaderwah
3. Khursheed Ahmed, S/o Mohd Yasir, R/o Nalthi, Bhaderwah
4. Avinash Manhas, S/o Vipin Manhas, R/o Nalthi, Tehsil Bhaderwah
All the detained persons have been produced before the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Bhaderwah, for further legal proceedings in accordance with law.
Doda Police reiterated their firm commitment to the safety and security of tourists and to maintaining law and order in the district. Any attempt to disturb public peace, harmony, or safety will be dealt with strictly as per law to ensure a safe, secure, and tourist-friendly environment.
