Doda, Feb 7: In a major crackdown on traffic violations, the Transport Department has suspended 113 driving licences and six vehicle registration certificates in Doda district for violations of traffic rules and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The action was taken under the guidance of Transport Commissioner Shri Vishesh Paul Mahajan, KAS, and under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Shri Harvinder Singh, IAS.
The enforcement drive was conducted by Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Doda, Shri Kapil Deol, JKAS, with the objective of strengthening road safety, promoting discipline among road users, and ensuring strict compliance with traffic laws.
Officials said that such enforcement drives will continue in the future to curb reckless driving and reduce road accidents. The general public has been urged to strictly adhere to traffic rules in the interest of their own safety as well as that of others.
