In a swift and courageous rescue operation, Doda Police in coordination with the SDRF team saved a woman who attempted to end her life by jumping into the River Chenab from Pul Doda Bridge.
According to reports, the woman, identified as Fatima Begum, wife of Faiz Ahmed and a resident of Dalwas, Tehsil Chanderkote, District Ramban, tried to leap into the river. Acting promptly on the information received, a joint team of Doda Police, led by the Incharge Police Post Pul Doda, along with SDRF personnel, rushed to the spot and successfully rescued her, averting a tragic incident.
Following the rescue, the woman was shifted to Women Police Station Doda, where she was provided counselling and care by police officials. After necessary intervention, she was handed over for further appropriate action as per established procedures.
The timely response and humane approach displayed by Doda Police, in close coordination with SDRF, once again underscores their commitment to public safety, rapid response, and compassionate policing. (Agencies)
