The ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan continued across Bandipora district on Wednesday with a series of awareness programmes, expert talks, guest lectures, pledge ceremonies and plantation drives organised in various educational institutions.
The programmes were held in multiple schools including HS Tarabal, HSS Chuntimulla, HS Panar, HS Kehnusa, BHS Onagam, HS Garoora, HSS Nowgam Bandipora, HSS Gadakhud, GHS Nadihal, GHS Naidkhai, HS Achoora, PM SHRI HSS Shahgund, HS Jurniyal Tulail, GHS Hajin, HSS Sumbal, HSS Madwan and HSS Budoab Tulail.
During the sessions, experts, religious scholars, doctors and government officers addressed students and highlighted the harmful effects of drug addiction on physical and mental health, academic performance, careers and society at large.
Speakers also sensitised students on the importance of resisting peer pressure, adopting healthy lifestyles and contributing towards building a drug-free society.
They further emphasized moral and spiritual values as key factors in shaping a responsible and disciplined generation.
At PM SHRI Girls High School Sumbal, a plantation drive was organised in collaboration with the Forest Department Bandipora as part of the anti-drug campaign.
Students, teachers and Forest Department officials participated in the drive and later took a collective pledge to stay away from drugs and actively spread awareness against substance abuse.
The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, officials and community members, reflecting the district’s collective commitment towards achieving the goals of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.
