Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Tuesday held a series of meetings with a diverse range of stakeholders as part of preparations for the upcoming Nasha Mukt J&K Mega Padyatra scheduled in Anantnag district on May 09.

The meetings were attended by ex-public representatives, village committee members, sports personalities, social activists, religious leaders and other prominent stakeholders who are expected to participate in the upcoming Padyatra.

Extending a formal invitation to all stakeholders, the Deputy Commissioner said the initiative aims to actively engage all sections of society in the fight against drug abuse and strengthen the movement towards a narcotics-free society.

He stated that the Mega Padyatra would serve as a major platform to demonstrate collective resolve under the ongoing 100-day intensified anti-drug campaign in Jammu and Kashmir.

Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat emphasized that mass participation would send a strong message against the drug menace and help strengthen community awareness and involvement.

He described drug abuse as a serious threat to individuals, families and society, requiring sustained and coordinated efforts for prevention and eradication.

Calling for a holistic and community-driven approach, the Deputy Commissioner said safeguarding youth from substance abuse must remain a shared responsibility of all stakeholders.

He urged participants to act as ambassadors of change within their respective communities and stressed that the success of the rally depends on active participation from all sections of society.

The stakeholders expressed full support for the initiative and assured cooperation in mobilizing participation from their areas. They also shared suggestions to enhance outreach and public engagement for the campaign.
