Srinagar, May 08: Director, Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Mohammad Younis Malik today chaired his maiden comprehensive review meeting at the Sempora campus of the institute to assess the progress of ongoing entrepreneurship and youth engagement initiatives across Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting witnessed participation of District Nodal Officers (DNOs), Range Officers (ROs), and in-charge officers from various sections of JKEDI, who joined both physically and virtually from different districts of the Union Territory.
During the review, detailed deliberations were held on key initiatives including the RAMP Scheme, Mission YUVA, and various self-employment programmes. The meeting also examined loan repayment and recovery status under different employment generation schemes along with other operational matters.
The Director emphasized the need to intensify efforts towards empowering youth through entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities. He directed officers to strengthen grassroots outreach and ensure wider mobilisation of aspiring entrepreneurs across all regions of J&K to build a strong and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
An extensive action plan for the financial year 2026–27 was also discussed during the meeting, with inputs sought from all programme verticals for effective implementation in the upcoming phases.
Highlighting the importance of teamwork, accountability, and transparency, Mohammad Younis Malik stressed result-oriented functioning as central to JKEDI’s mission of guiding youth towards sustainable entrepreneurial success.
He urged all officers to work in close coordination to realise the institute’s vision of creating a self-reliant and enterprising youth population in Jammu and Kashmir.
