Kishtwar, May 08: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today disbursed financial assistance under the Jammu and Kashmir Road Accident Victim Fund to six families affected by road accidents.

An amount of ₹5 lakh was distributed based on cases submitted by the Assistant Road Transport Officer (ARTO). Under the scheme, ₹1 lakh each was provided to the legal heirs of four persons who lost their lives in separate road accidents, while ₹50,000 each was given to two grievously injured individuals.

The initiative aims to provide timely financial support to families affected by tragic road accidents and reflects the administration’s commitment to welfare and relief measures for distressed households.

The beneficiaries included families of victims such as Ab Majeed, Mast Ram, Shagufta Ara, Saif Ali, along with injured persons Sohail Bashir and Shamima Akhtar Banoo from different areas of Kishtwar district.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s resolve to ensure prompt assistance to road accident victims and their families under various government welfare schemes designed for public support and relief.
