New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the Okhla landfill site and inspected the ongoing work related to waste disposal and processing. She also reviewed the future action plan with officials during the visit.
The inspection comes as Delhi continues its efforts to clear legacy waste from major landfill sites. The Okhla landfill has been part of the city’s ongoing biomining and waste-processing drive, with substantial quantities of waste processed and land reclaimed in recent months.
During the visit, Gupta reviewed the progress on the ground and discussed the next steps with officials to ensure that the waste-management work continues according to the planned targets.
The Delhi government has been focusing on scientific waste processing and reclamation of landfill areas as part of its broader efforts to improve solid-waste management in the capital.
