Udhampur, May 5: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa, on Monday chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.
The meeting was attended by concerned officers, vendors, and representatives of agencies associated with the implementation of the scheme. During the review, the Executive Engineer JPDCL presented a detailed status report on the scheme’s execution, including total applications received, cases allotted to vendors, pending applications, and installations completed so far.
The Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review of the progress and sought detailed feedback on the challenges being faced in implementation.
Emphasizing the need for wider outreach, he directed the authorities to launch an extensive door-to-door awareness campaign to sensitize people about the benefits of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and encourage maximum participation.
He further stressed the importance of effective coordination between JPDCL and empanelled vendors to reduce the gap between pending applications and completed installations. The DC instructed all stakeholders to intensify awareness efforts and ensure timely execution of works under the scheme.
The meeting concluded with directions to strengthen implementation mechanisms for achieving better coverage under the flagship rooftop solar initiative.
