Ashok Kumar Sharma stresses awareness, coordination and effective implementation of farmer welfare schemes

POONCH, MAY 11: Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma on Monday chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and other farmer welfare initiatives in the district.

The meeting was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer Jograj Salathia, Chief Horticulture Officer Uttam Lal, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Ashraf, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Basharat, Assistant Grading and Marketing Officer Mufti Shabir, Assistant Director Fisheries, Veterinary Doctor Mohd. Saleem, and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner sought detailed reports regarding the implementation of schemes and projects being executed by Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, and allied departments.

The meeting also reviewed the fund requirements and progress achieved under various schemes being implemented under HADP, including targets, achievements, and existing gaps.

Ashok Kumar Sharma also reviewed the implementation status of JKCIP and other ongoing development projects in the district.

Emphasising awareness and public outreach, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to organise awareness camps under the Vibrant Village Programme in remote and border areas to educate farmers and residents about government welfare schemes and benefits available under different programmes.

He urged all stakeholder departments to work in close coordination for effective and time-bound implementation of HADP and allied schemes to ensure the welfare and economic upliftment of the farming community in the district.
