Poonch, May 08: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a District Level NCORD (Narco Coordination Centre) meeting to review measures being undertaken to curb the drug menace and assess implementation of the 100-Day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan across the district.
During the meeting, officers from various departments briefed the chair about anti-drug activities, enforcement drives and preventive measures being carried out in their respective jurisdictions.
The Deputy Commissioner directed joint inspection teams to conduct thorough checks of medical shops and recommended strict action against establishments found involved in illegal sale of drugs. He instructed enforcement agencies to cancel licences of violators as per rules.
Emphasizing the importance of awareness and community participation, the DC asked stakeholder departments to organize regular programmes under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan to educate the public about the harmful effects of substance abuse and preventive measures.
He further instructed officers to promptly report suspicious drug-related activities to the district headquarters and ensure regular uploading of Nasha Mukt campaign activities on the designated portal.
The meeting was attended by SSP Shafket Hussain Bhat, ADC Tahir Mustafa, ACR Muhammad Sayeed, DFO (T), CMO, SDMs of Mendhar and Surankote, college heads, Tehsildars, Drug Inspector and other concerned officers.
