DC Kishtwar Reviews Preparedness for Census-2027 and Self-Enumeration Process

Mass awareness drive planned for successful census self enumeration campaign

Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma chaired a meeting of the District Census Coordination Committee to review preparations for Census-2027 in the district.

The meeting focused on self-enumeration, house listing, housing census operations, training programmes, and House Listing Block (HLB) demarcation work.

Officials informed that training for district field trainers has been completed while enumerators and supervisors are undergoing training at multiple venues. Out of 539 HLBs, geo-tagging and demarcation work has achieved around 77 percent progress.

The DC directed Charge Officers to complete the remaining work within the prescribed timeline and stressed close coordination with Panchayats, Urban Local Bodies, and departmental nodal officers for effective public mobilization.

Highlighting the importance of census data in development planning, he appealed to citizens to actively participate in the self-enumeration process and cooperate with census teams for smooth conduct of Census-2027 in Kishtwar.
