Amit Shah Vows Retaliation for Pahalgam Terror Attack: “No One Will Be Spared, Terrorism Will Be Eradicated”
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Wednesday paid solemn tribute to the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir, describing the incident as a “national tragedy” and reiterating the Modi government’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorism from Indian soil.
Speaking at an event in New Delhi to inaugurate a road and unveil a statue in honour of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, a revered leader of Assam’s Bodo community, Shah expressed solidarity with the grieving families. “The sorrow of those who lost their loved ones in the Pahalgam attack is not theirs alone. It is the grief of every Indian. This is a moment of collective national mourning,” he said.
Reaffirming the Centre’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism, Shah sent a stern message to the perpetrators and their sponsors. “Terrorists must not assume they have succeeded. This battle is far from over. We will avenge every drop of blood—chun chun ke badla lenge (we will take revenge for each one),” he declared.
He added, “Anyone who believes their cowardly act is a victory should remember this is the Narendra Modi government. No one will be spared. Our mission is clear—to root out terrorism from every corner of the country.”
Shah continued, “Every individual involved will be tracked down and given a fitting response—jawab bhi diya jayega.” He emphasized that under PM Modi’s leadership, national security has always been the top priority.
Citing the government’s tough stance on insurgency, Maoist violence, and terrorism, Shah said, “From the North East to Kashmir, under PM Modi, every security challenge has been countered with strength and strategy.”
He warned that such attacks will not weaken India’s determination. “Let terrorists and their handlers know — their cowardly actions won’t break our resolve. Our fight will go on until terrorism is wiped out entirely,” he asserted.
Shah also noted growing international support for India in its fight against terrorism. “Not only are 140 crore Indians united in this battle, but the global community also stands with us.”
As part of India’s firm response, the government has initiated diplomatic and strategic steps, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, signaling a strong message over its support for cross-border terrorism.
The April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam left 26 people dead, prompting national outrage and mourning. The following day, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) convened to assess the situation, underline cross-border linkages to the attack, and chart a decisive course of action.
