DC Doda Reviews PM-SYM Scheme Implementation, Pushes Registration Drive

Krishan Lal directs departments to intensify awareness and enrollment of unorganised sector workers across Doda district

DODA, MAY 15: Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal on Thursday chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the implementation and progress of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Scheme in the district.

The meeting focused on enhancing registration under the scheme and ensuring maximum outreach among eligible beneficiaries across Doda district.

During the review, the Deputy Commissioner assessed registration progress, awareness activities, departmental coordination, monitoring mechanisms and data collection related to the scheme. He directed concerned officers to intensify awareness campaigns at Panchayat, Block and Tehsil levels to enroll maximum eligible beneficiaries including labourers, street vendors, drivers, artisans, agricultural workers, construction workers and other employees of the unorganised sector.

The DC further instructed the Labour Department to ensure proper collection and verification of domestic labour data and construction workers’ records. He also directed the Agriculture Department to provide detailed data of agricultural labourers for effective registration under the scheme.

Krishan Lal also directed Executive Officers of Municipal Committees and other departments to facilitate enrollment of civic workers and eligible temporary employees under the PM-SYM Scheme. He emphasized close coordination with Common Service Centres (CSCs), field functionaries and departmental officers to ensure smooth implementation.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed officers to organise special awareness and registration camps in rural and far-flung areas to facilitate enrollment. He also stressed regular monitoring, target-based implementation, timely submission of progress reports and maintenance of accurate beneficiary data.

Detailed discussions were held regarding departmental targets and registration parameters. The meeting was attended by ACR Ashraf Pervez, ACD Din Mohammad Afaqi, District Horticulture Officer and representatives from various departments, while ADC Bhaderwah Sunil Bhutyal, PO ICDS Akhtar Hussain Qazi, SE Hydraulic Circle, ACP Mushraf Haff and other officers joined virtually.

The meeting also stressed enrollment of workers associated with Handloom, Agriculture, Labour, PHE, PWD, ICDS, Health, Social Welfare and Sports departments. Participants discussed challenges in implementation and shared suggestions to enhance public participation and awareness regarding the scheme.
