DC Bandipora chairs Mega Block Diwas programme at Ketson

DC Bandipora reviews developmental issues at Ketson Mega Block Diwas, assures priority redressal of public grievances.

Indu Kanwal Chib on Tuesday chaired a Mega Block Diwas programme at High School Ketson in Aloosa block, where she reviewed developmental activities and addressed several public grievances raised by local residents.

The programme witnessed participation from officers of various departments, local residents and students, while cultural performances were also presented on the occasion.

During the interaction session, residents highlighted multiple issues including ration cards, road connectivity, LPG supply, transport facilities, tourism promotion, the Lolab-Bandipora road, playground facilities and water scarcity.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said that significant improvement has been achieved in the area’s basic infrastructure. She noted that the road leading to Ketson has already been macadamised, mobile connectivity has been established, Anganwadi Centres are functioning effectively and the local school possesses satisfactory infrastructure.

Indu Kanwal Chib assured the public that all remaining issues and deficiencies identified during the programme would be addressed on priority.

Regarding the school approach road, the concerned Executive Engineer informed that the project has already been included under the Cities and Towns Plan. The CAPD department also assured that deserving families would be provided ration cards after receiving the required quota.

The ARTO informed the gathering that sumo services are currently operating in the area, while efforts are underway to introduce mini-bus services for better transportation facilities.

Health department officials informed that Health and Wellness Centres at Ketson and Binlipora are functioning properly and providing healthcare services to residents.

On tourism-related demands, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged local residents to submit proposals for tourism promotion and homestay facilities to boost local livelihood opportunities.

Responding to demands for sports infrastructure, she directed the concerned Patwari to identify suitable land for development of a playground and assured that additional sports kits would be provided to local youth.

She also directed the BDO and Tehsildar concerned to prepare a proposal for construction of a community hall in the area.

Taking serious note of reports regarding poppy cultivation, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned SHO to submit a detailed report within 48 hours.

The programme was attended by senior district and sectoral officers including ACP, CMO, CEO, ARTO, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, R&B and PMGSY, besides officials from Agriculture, Horticulture, Labour, Animal Husbandry and Food departments
