ACC Grants Further Deputation to IAS Officers Basharat Qayoom and Athar Aamir in AGMUT

One-year extensions granted in relaxation of existing policy; DoPT issues separate orders for both 2016-batch IAS officers.

New Delhi, Feb 11: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of inter-cadre deputation tenure of two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to the AGMUT Cadre (Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir), according to official orders issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

As per orders issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the ACC has granted a one-year extension to Shri Basharat Qayoom, IAS (JH:2016), from the Jharkhand cadre to the AGMUT cadre beyond February 23, 2026. The extension has been approved in relaxation of the existing policy. The decision was conveyed through an order dated February 10, 2026, following a DoPT reference dated January 28, 2026.

In a separate order dated February 6, 2026, the ACC also approved a one-year extension of inter-cadre deputation for Shri Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan, IAS (RJ:2016), from the Rajasthan cadre to the AGMUT cadre beyond February 15, 2026, likewise in relaxation of the prevailing policy.

Both extensions were formally notified by the Department of Personnel and Training after due approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. (Agencies)
