Bharti Airtel has expanded its mobile network infrastructure along the Amarnath Yatra routes, aiming to provide improved connectivity for pilgrims, security personnel and local authorities during the annual pilgrimage.
The telecom operator has deployed additional network sites at Chandanwari, Pissu Top and Betaab Valley, extending reliable coverage across the Pahalgam route. These additions complement Airtel’s existing network presence along the Baltal route, ensuring uninterrupted voice and data services up to the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine.
The network expansion was carried out in coordination with government authorities and the local administration to strengthen communication infrastructure during the Yatra. The upgraded services are expected to support emergency communications, improve digital access and provide seamless connectivity for millions of devotees.
Vikram RS, Chief Operating Officer for Jammu and Kashmir at Bharti Airtel, said the company remains committed to connecting people, communities and essential services even in some of the country’s most challenging terrains.
He added that strengthening network coverage across both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes reflects Airtel’s continued investment in Jammu and Kashmir and its commitment to ensuring reliable communication for pilgrims, security forces and officials throughout the pilgrimage season.
The expansion is part of Airtel’s broader efforts to enhance digital connectivity and strengthen communication infrastructure in remote regions across the country.(Agencies)
