GANDERBAL, MAY 15: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore today chaired a joint meeting with officers and representatives of various service providers at Sonamarg to finalize rates for key services to be provided to pilgrims during the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026) via the Baltal route.
The meeting focused on ensuring fair pricing, quality service delivery and improved facilities for pilgrims during the annual pilgrimage.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding fixation of rates for services including ponies, dandies, palkis and tents. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to prevent overcharging and directed all stakeholders to strictly adhere to the approved rates.
He also stressed maintaining quality standards for tents and directed that every tent must be equipped with fire extinguishers to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
Representatives of various service groups participated in the meeting and assured full cooperation for the smooth and successful conduct of SANJY-2026.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the district administration will ensure strict compliance with approved rates through monitoring mechanisms, while also facilitating a safe, comfortable and hassle-free pilgrimage experience for devotees and ensuring proper support to service providers.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, CEO Sonamarg Development Authority, Divisional Forest Officer Sindh Forest Division, SDM Kangan, SDPO Kangan and other district and sectoral officers along with representatives of service providers.
