Jammu/Kishtwar, May 1, 2026: The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) has ramped up its activities in Jammu and Kashmir under its Constitution Leadership Program, positioning the initiative as part of a larger ideological push to defend constitutional values and counter what it terms as growing challenges to democratic institutions.

The campaign is being led by IYC National Spokesperson Aishwarya Bhadre, along with J&K Youth Congress President Aakash Bharat, State Youth General Secretary Anas Mujtaba Munshi and District Incharge Kishtwar Swarnveer Singh Jaral.

Framed as more than an outreach exercise, the program is being projected by the organisation as a “movement” to politically and socially mobilise youth at a time when debates around constitutional safeguards, federalism, and democratic space have intensified.

Operating under the leadership of IYC National President Uday Bhanu Chib and National Incharge Manish Sharma, the initiative draws ideological backing from Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who has repeatedly accused the ruling establishment of undermining the Constitution.

Through campaigns like “Bahujan Ki Awaaz” and “Phygital Kranti,” the Youth Congress is attempting to build a hybrid grassroots-digital network aimed at shaping political narratives and increasing youth participation in what it describes as a fight to “protect democratic rights.”

Leaders associated with the program argue that the current socio-political climate demands a more assertive role from young citizens, particularly in regions like Jammu and Kashmir where questions of governance, representation, and institutional balance remain politically sensitive.

The organisation has indicated that it will scale up the campaign across the Union Territory in the coming weeks, signalling a more aggressive political engagement strategy focused on youth mobilisation and narrative-building.
