Jammu/Doda, April 26, 2026: In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Doda Police on Sunday busted an alleged drug network in Dak Mohalla area of Sadikabad, detaining three persons — including women drug peddlers — and recovering a huge quantity of cash and contraband.

The action was carried out under the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir” campaign, in line with the zero-tolerance policy against drugs advocated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police teams led by Additional SP Doda Mohd Aslam Wani conducted coordinated raids at multiple locations in the area. During a search operation at the residence of Zarina Begum, police recovered approximately 85 grams of heroin (commonly known as “chitta”) along with ₹23 lakh in cash.
Preliminary investigation has revealed the involvement of Zarina Begum and her daughter in the illegal narcotics trade, marking a significant development with the arrest of women drug peddlers in the case. Another accused, identified as Zahir Bhat, has also been detained and is being questioned.
The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of SSP Doda Kartik Shrotriya, whose leadership has been instrumental in intensifying the fight against drug trafficking in the district.
Officials stated that further raids are underway based on leads emerging from the investigation, and more arrests are likely in the coming days.
Reiterating its commitment to eradicating the drug menace, Doda Police has urged the public to share information related to drug peddling to support the mission of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
