Jammu, January 31, 2026: In a continued crackdown against narcotics, Police Station Bahu Fort achieved a significant success by arresting a UP-based drug peddler and recovering 480 grams of ganja from his possession.
A police team of PS Bahu Fort, while performing naka checking duty near the Out Gate of Railway Station Jammu, noticed a suspicious person coming from the railway station towards Marathi Mohalla on a scooty bearing registration number JK02BR-6965. On noticing the police naka, the person attempted to flee; however, due to the alertness and swift action of the police team, he was overpowered after hectic efforts.
During checking and personal frisking, 480 grams of ganja was recovered from his possession. Upon questioning, the accused disclosed his identity as Isuf Ali, son of Jhaller, resident of Rampur Painda, Shrawasti (Uttar Pradesh), presently residing at Sector-4, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Accordingly, FIR No. 36/2026 under Sections 8/20/25 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the contraband.
The arrest and recovery were made by a team of PS Bahu Fort led by SHO PS Bahu Fort and assisted by PSI Amir Hussain and PSI Zakir Ali, under the close supervision of SDPO East and SP South Jammu.
Jammu Police reiterated its firm resolve to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and appealed to the public to cooperate by sharing information related to drug trafficking and abuse.
