The Army on Wednesday said that two infiltrators were gunned down along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“In a successful anti-infiltration operation, alert troops of the Indian Army eliminated two terrorists attempting to cross the LoC. Swift action and precise firepower foiled their nefarious designs. Three weapons were recovered from the site,” said an Army spokesperson in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“Well-coordinated and timely intelligence inputs from our own units and the Jammu and Kashmir Police (#JKP) led to the successful execution of the operation,”

it added.Earlier, an Army official said a fierce exchange of gunfire erupted after troops challenged a group of terrorists attempting to infiltrate near a forward post in the Kalsiyan area. (Sources)
