US President Donald Trump has said it may never be conclusively determined who was responsible for a deadly missile strike on a girls’ school in Minab, Iran, which killed scores of children earlier this year.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said that with multiple missiles being fired during the conflict, responsibility for the February 28 strike remains unclear. He added that while some reports suggested US involvement, he has seen no evidence confirming that claim and believes it may not have been carried out by American forces.

His remarks follow earlier statements in which he described the strike as a mistake and unintentional, after initially suggesting without evidence that Iran was responsible. The incident occurred during the early phase of the Iran conflict involving US and Israeli attacks.

Preliminary internal reports had previously indicated that US forces may have been responsible due to outdated targeting data, though the Pentagon has not confirmed any findings and continues to review the case.

Iranian officials have claimed that more than 175 children and teachers were killed in the strike, which has drawn global condemnation. Human rights groups and UN officials have described the incident as horrific and potentially a violation of international humanitarian law.

The matter remains under investigation as Washington and Tehran continue broader diplomatic discussions following the conflict.
