Doda, April 15, 2026: In a major push against drug trafficking, Doda Police intensified its anti-narcotics drive and apprehended three drug peddlers in two separate operations, recovering heroin and charas-like substances.

According to the Police Media Cell, the first operation was conducted by Police Station Gandoh after receiving specific information from Police Post Kahara. A naka checking team at Domail Kahara intercepted a suspect identified as Mohd Sarwar, a resident of Bani Trankhal, Tehsil Kahara. During search, approximately 450 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
The accused failed to provide any valid justification for carrying the contraband, indicating involvement in illegal drug trafficking. Subsequently, FIR No. 39/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Gandoh, and further investigation has been initiated.
In another operation, a naka checking team near Ganpat Bridge under Police Station Doda intercepted two individuals—Yasir Ahmed Shah of Sadeqabad and Abu Mubbasir of Akrambad. Upon personal search, 6.20 grams of heroin was recovered from Yasir Ahmed Shah, while 5.12 grams was seized from Abu Mubbasir.
Police sources revealed that both accused are habitual offenders with prior involvement in multiple NDPS and theft-related cases. FIR No. 86/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered, and investigations are ongoing.
