MUMBAI, Sept. 22: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari met Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Anant Ambani at the Ambani family’s residence, Antilia, in Mumbai, as part of efforts to attract fresh industrial investment to the state.
The meeting focused on investment opportunities, expansion of Reliance’s existing business activities and employment generation in West Bengal. A Reliance spokesperson confirmed that the state government is seeking to encourage major corporate groups to expand their industrial presence in Bengal.
The discussions come as the West Bengal government seeks to accelerate industrial activity and create an environment conducive to new investments. Potential expansion of Reliance’s presence in the state was reportedly among the key areas discussed.
Adhikari was also invited to the Ambani family’s Ganesh Puja and later shared photographs of the meeting. He presented the Ambani family with a special memento of Maa Kali from West Bengal.
The meeting marks another high-profile effort by the state government to engage major industrial groups on investment and employment opportunities in Bengal.
