A Mitchell Starc-inspired Delhi Capitals triumphed over Rajasthan Royals in a thrilling Super Over finish in their Indian Premier League clash on Wednesday.
Chasing 12 runs in the Super Over, Delhi Capitals managed to score the required runs in just four balls.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals posted a total of 188/5 in their 20 overs. In response, Rajasthan Royals were led by brisk half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 27 balls) and Nitish Rana (51 off 28 balls). However, a brilliant final over from Starc took the game into the Super Over, as RR finished with 188/4 in 20 overs.
Needing nine runs in the final over, Starc conceded just eight to level the score and force the Super Over.
For Delhi, Abhishek Porel top-scored with a 37-ball 49 at the top, while skipper Axar Patel (34 off 14 balls) and Tristan Stubbs (34* off 18) added key contributions to lift the total past 185. KL Rahul also made a 38 off 32 balls.
