SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday attended the Passing-Out Parade of 49 Probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySsP) and 1112 Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur.
Addressing the newly inducted officers, the LG emphasised the need for intelligence-driven, technology-supported and community-engaged policing to combat terrorism and ensure peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated that the complete eradication of terrorism remains the administration’s top priority and assured that security forces have full operational freedom to act against the terror network and its support system.
He also stressed the importance of beat and area policing, urging a balance between technological intelligence (TechInt) and human intelligence (HumInt). The LG called for enhanced use of Artificial Intelligence for data analysis, counter-radicalisation, and early threat detection.
Sinha said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the Indian Army and Central Armed Police Forces, must coordinate efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem, including overground workers and those offering logistical and financial support to militants.
Paying tribute to fallen personnel, the LG called upon the recruits to uphold the core values of justice, law, and public service, and to work towards strengthening public trust and community vigilance.
The LG took the ceremonial salute, inspected the parade, and felicitated officers who excelled in training. Officials including DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat, senior civil and police officers, local representatives, and families of the passing-out officers were present.
