SCW Jammu Organises Awareness Programme at Bal Bharti Public School, Channi Rama

Jammu, April 28, 2026:
The Special Crime Wing (SCW) Jammu on Tuesday organised a one-day awareness programme at Bal Bharti Public School, Channi Rama, focusing on the newly introduced criminal laws, anti-drug awareness under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, and the role of youth in community development.

During the session, SCW officers briefed students and faculty, led by the school principal, on the three new criminal laws that came into effect from July 1, 2024 — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). The officers explained the key provisions of these laws and their significance in modernising India’s criminal justice system.

The programme also highlighted the issue of drug abuse, its legal consequences, and the collective role of families, educational institutions, and society in prevention. Government-led de-addiction initiatives were also discussed in detail. Emphasis was laid on the constructive role youth can play in strengthening community development.

The interactive session was conducted by Dy SP Javaid Iqbal Tabassum and Senior PO Neha under the supervision of SSP SCW Jammu, Sanjay Parihar.

SCW Jammu reiterated its commitment to continue such outreach programmes to enhance public awareness and promote social responsibility among youth.
