Schools in Jammu Division to Remain Closed Today

Amid forecasts of inclement weather, the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) on Sunday ordered the closure of all government and private schools across the Jammu division on August 18.

The order, issued by Director of School Education Jammu, Naseem Javid Chowdhary, was taken in view of the prevailing adverse conditions and predictions of heavy rainfall over the next two days.

Officials said regular updates on the reopening of schools will be shared based on improvements in weather conditions.

In Rajouri district, the School Education Department had already ordered the closure of all educational institutions on August 18 as a precautionary measure in view of the weather forecast. A similar order was also issued in Poonch district. (Agencies)
