The closure comes amid widespread rainfall in parts of Jammu and Kashmir triggered by an active western disturbance, leading to a drop in temperatures and disruption of normal life in several areas.

Officials said the precautionary step was taken to ensure the safety of students and staff, as continuous rainfall raised concerns over waterlogging, slippery roads, and accessibility, especially in hilly and vulnerable areas of the district. (Agency)
