Samba Police Rescue Five People Trapped in Flooded Basantar River, Avert Major Tragedy

Samba, July 5: In a swift and courageous rescue operation, Samba Police on Sunday saved the lives of five people who became trapped in the strong currents of the flooded Basantar River following a sudden rise in the water level.

According to an official statement, Police Station Samba received information that five persons were stranded in the flooded river behind the Police Station after the water level rose unexpectedly.

Acting immediately, SHO Police Station Samba, Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, rushed to the spot along with his police team and launched a rescue operation without delay.

The operation was carried out on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Anuj Kumar (IPS), and under the close supervision of the Additional Superintendent of Police, Samba, and DySP Headquarters, Samba, who remained at the scene, monitored the situation, and ensured effective coordination throughout the rescue effort.

Despite strong currents and difficult conditions, Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday personally led the operation with exceptional courage and determination. Through meticulous planning, swift action, and coordinated teamwork, the police successfully rescued all five stranded persons safely, preventing what could have been a major tragedy.

The successful operation highlights the operational preparedness, prompt response, and humanitarian commitment of District Police Samba towards safeguarding the lives of the public during emergencies.
