Jammu, May 12; 2026: Retired Assistant Director Food and National Conference Provincial Joint Secretary Jammu, Ghulam Rasool Magray, today met Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Jammu, Rajesh Kumar Shavan and raised several public issues concerning the remote twin blocks of Marwah and Warwan in Kishtwar district.
During the meeting, Magray highlighted the hardships being faced by the people in both the blocks. He said residents are forced to travel long distances for ration-related works and other departmental services, resulting in inconvenience to the general public.
He urged the Director to take immediate steps for the establishment of TSO offices in Marwah and Warwan so that people can access departmental services at their doorstep. He also stressed the need for residential accommodation for staff to ensure smooth functioning of the offices throughout the year, especially during harsh weather conditions.
Director Rajesh Kumar Shavan gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured that all genuine concerns would be addressed on priority. He further assured that TSO offices along with residential accommodation would be established in both the remote blocks.
Acting promptly on the matter, the Director directed the concerned authorities to identify suitable state land for the establishment of the offices and related infrastructure.
The meeting is being viewed as a significant step towards strengthening administrative infrastructure and improving public service delivery in the far-flung areas of Marwah and Warwan.
