Jammu, April 1; 2026: Rajesh Kumar Shavan, a 1999-batch KAS officer, on Wednesday assumed charge as Director, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Jammu, at a time when the country is witnessing supply-side challenges amid the ongoing West Asia conflict.
Known for his grit, transparency and pro-people approach, Shavan brings with him vast administrative experience, having handled several sensitive assignments across key departments. Shavan has previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri and Kishtwar, where his administrative acumen earned wide appreciation.

He takes over charge from Rifat Kohli.
His appointment comes at a crucial juncture, with expectations that his experience and people-centric approach will further strengthen the public distribution system and ensure efficient delivery of essential commodities across the Jammu region.
