Sultanpur, October 26: Vehicles in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s convoy were involved in a minor collision on the Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning. Gandhi remained safe and continued his journey towards Sultanpur, according to police officials.
The incident occurred around 10:15 am when a private vehicle at the front of the convoy, reportedly belonging to local Congress leaders, suddenly applied the brakes. This led to vehicles travelling behind it colliding with one another.
According to officials, the incident was not serious, and no major injuries were reported. The convoy resumed its journey shortly after the collision.
Rahul Gandhi was travelling from Lucknow to Sultanpur to appear before a special MP-MLA court in connection with a criminal defamation case over remarks allegedly made against then BJP president Amit Shah during the 2018 Karnataka Assembly election campaign.
