Pulwama Intensifies Activities Under 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Campaign

Pulwama intensifies Nasha Mukt Abhiyan with rallies, sports events and awareness drives across schools, zones and public institutions

Pulwama, May 5: As part of the ongoing 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, a series of awareness and outreach activities were conducted across Pulwama district by multiple departments to sensitize the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The Youth Services and Sports Department organized rallies and sports competitions across various zones of the district, witnessing active participation of students and staff from several educational institutions.

In Zone Pulwama, institutions including GHSS Pulwama, HSS Hawl, HS Malangpora, HS Payer, GHS Gadoora, NIE Institute, GMS Karimabad, GMS Booner, and UPS Chewakalan organized anti-drug rallies. In Zone Tahab, HS Naina conducted chess and table tennis competitions, while UPS Patipora organized badminton events and MS Chandgam held an awareness rally.

In Zone Pampore, inter-zonal chess and table tennis competitions were held at BHSS Pampore, while GHSS Khrew organized an anti-drug rally. Additionally, the Zonal Office Tral conducted zonal-level badminton and volleyball tournaments for U-14 boys.

Participants across these events also took pledge ceremonies, committing themselves to contribute towards building a drug-free society.

Furthermore, the Drug Control Department Pulwama organized a rally at Sub-District Headquarters Tral with participation from members of the Chemists and Druggists Association and students from a local educational institution.

Multi-sectoral awareness programmes were also conducted at Lalpora Tral, Hatiwara Pampore, and Sirnoo Pulwama. The Education Department additionally organized awareness rallies across the district.

The activities are part of the district’s action plan aimed at involving all sections of society in combating drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free environment.
