Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir: Security forces and police conducted a search at a jewellery shop in Poonch’s Main Market on September 19, recovering five AK-47 rounds, Pakistani currency worth ₹105, around 30 Pakistani posters and two Pakistani flags, officials said. An FSL team and a Naib Tehsildar were also present during the search.
The recovery initially triggered a security investigation, with authorities seeking to determine how the material reached the shop. However, a subsequent probe reported by The Indian Express has taken an unexpected turn, with police alleging that the material may have been planted as part of a conspiracy to frame the jewellery-shop owner’s family in a terror case. Three people have been taken into custody, while police are reportedly searching for two others.
Investigators are continuing to examine the evidence and the circumstances surrounding the recovery.
