Srinagar, Mar 28 : The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday staged a protest at Press Colony in Srinagar, targeting the ruling National Conference (NC) over its alleged failure to fulfil key promises made to the public.

Party leaders and workers assembled in large numbers, raising slogans against the government and accusing it of backtracking on major welfare commitments.

The protesters highlighted issues such as the non-implementation of 200 units of free electricity, shortage of kerosene, and irregular supply of LPG cylinders and petrol, alleging that the concerns of common people are being ignored.

Senior PDP leaders said the rising cost of living and scarcity of essential commodities have further added to public hardship.

They warned of intensifying their agitation if corrective steps are not taken, asserting that the government must be held accountable for its promises.  (Agency)
