Kishtwar, 09-01-2026: As part of National Road Safety Month 2026 and in an effort to promote road safety and responsible driving habits, under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Shri Pankaj Kumar Sharma, JKAS, and the Transport Commissioner, J&K, Shri Vishesh Paul Mahajan, JKAS, and in compliance with their directions, the Motor Vehicles Department Kishtwar, led by ARTO Kishtwar, Sh. Tasleem Wani, JKAS, in collaboration with GREF led by Sh. J. K. Pandey and the Traffic Police led by DTI Sh. Karan Singh, pasted road safety awareness stickers on dozens of vehicles and distributed more than 200 pamphlets on the Kishtwar–Paddar road.
The stickers and pamphlets carry simple yet powerful messages to remind drivers and commuters of the importance of following traffic rules.
As a gesture of appreciation, chocolates and flowers were distributed to those found obeying traffic rules.
Awareness regarding Good Samaritan / Rah-Veer was also raised among commuters.
ARTO Kishtwar stated that the initiative aims to reduce road accidents by encouraging safe driving practices, respect for pedestrians, and adherence to traffic regulations. By displaying these messages on vehicles, the campaign seeks to reach a wide audience and create constant awareness on roads.
