Northern Army commander reviews security milieu in Doda-Ramban-Kishtwar region

Jammu, July 23: The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, on Wednesday reviewed the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar districts of the Jammu region.

Multiple operations are currently underway in the three districts, with joint teams of the Army, police, and paramilitary forces working to track down terrorists who have been active in the area for over a month.

“Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander, reviewed the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorist operations in the Doda-Ramban-Kishtwar region,” the Northern Command Headquarters said in a post on X.

Accompanied by Lieutenant General P.K. Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, the Army Commander visited the Delta Force Headquarters in Batote, where he was briefed on ‘Operation Shiva’—a mission focused on ensuring the safety and security of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lieutenant General Mishra stressed the importance of maintaining a proactive operational posture, supported by advanced technology. He also commended all ranks for their unwavering dedication to sustained counter-terrorism efforts and maintaining regional stability.
