No Backlog of Contract Payments at Treasuries, Says DGAT

JAMMU, Mar 13: The Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries (DGAT) has rejected recent media reports alleging delays in contract payments, describing them as false and misleading.

In a statement issued here, the DGAT clarified that all liabilities related to contract payments have been cleared and that there is no backlog of such payments at treasuries. “The fact is that the department has released full funds under Capex,” the statement said.

The DGAT also urged media organisations to ensure balanced and professional reporting by including the Finance Department’s version on such matters. (Agency)
