New Delhi, Jun 20: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has completed preparations for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 21, for more than 22.79 lakh candidates across 551 cities in India and 14 international locations.
Ahead of the examination, a nationwide mock drill is being conducted on Saturday to assess security arrangements and ensure the smooth conduct of the test. The exercise began at 9 a.m. and will continue until late evening, with more than 2.5 lakh security personnel participating across the country.
The NEET UG 2026 re-test will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Candidates eligible for compensatory time under the PwD/PwBD category will be allowed to continue writing until 6:20 p.m.
According to the NTA, all examination centres have already been taken over by the agency and will function under a three-tier security system. Paramilitary forces have been deployed to safeguard the transportation and custody of question papers and answer booklets.
More than 5,000 examination centres will remain under CCTV surveillance, with live feeds directly accessible to the NTA for real-time monitoring. A dedicated high-level control room has also been established to monitor social media platforms and detect any suspicious or unfair activities related to the examination.
The NTA has advised candidates to strictly follow all examination guidelines, report to their centres on time, and carry only the permitted documents to ensure a hassle-free examination process.
