The Monsoon Session of Parliament will be held from July 20 to August 13, 2026, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced on Saturday, stating that preparations for the upcoming session have been completed following approval from the President of India.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Rijiju informed that President Droupadi Murmu has approved the recommendation of the central government to summon both Houses of Parliament for the session. He said the decision has been taken to ensure timely legislative work and discussion on issues of national importance.

According to the minister, the Monsoon Session will begin on July 20, 2026, and continue till August 13, 2026. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring “meaningful debate, discussion and decisions” during the session, where several important policy matters and legislative proposals are expected to be taken up.

Parliament sessions in India traditionally play a crucial role in shaping national policy, passing laws, and allowing opposition and ruling parties to raise public interest issues.
